This is a great descriptive children's book of the effect of a thunderstorm on different areas (farm, city, etc.) and it has a beautiful, rolling cadence to it. It took a few readings to get used to the lengthy sentences and enunciate the story accurately. I love it, and it's become a favorite of my three year old son. I purchased this to help him get used to the concept of storms, which happen very frequently here in Texas and can pop up quite suddenly (and loudly). We read it during the last thunderstorm that rolled in and he was able to see it as a normal part of life that you need to respect, but not be terrified of.
