Description
The Mind Map Book: Radiant Thinking may be the most important book published this century for anyone *ho wishes to use his or her brain to its full potential. It is the only book that both explains thefundamental operation of the human brain in terms of its thinking processesand explains how to unleash and harness its untapped power. The Mind Map Book: Radiant Thinking is a comprehensive guide to Mind Maps, a revolutionary method of accessing intelligence, developed over many years by Tony Buzan and his brother Barry. Mind Mapping is relevant to absolutely everyone, as the technique offers exciting new ways of using and improving memory, concentration and creativity in planning and structuring thought on all levels. This special revised edition celebrates the 21st Birthday of the formal introduction of Mind Maps to the world by the BBC and the author in the Spring of 1974.A key goal for all individuals, especially those in business and education communities, is to accelerate their ability to learn, remember and record information. A Mind Map's radiating structure, reflecting the natural architecture of the brain, allows rapid expansion and exploration of an idea in note form, resulting in a clear and concise picture or map of all the relevant interlinked points for inclusion in further written matter, presentations and reports. Thus, an idea can be quickly and profoundly explored while simultaneously maintaining clear focus on the central theme. By incorporating the use of shapes, colours and dimensions as visual stimulants, the Mind Mapping technique allows you to make the best use of all your considerable mental resources. The Mind Map Book is destined to become a classic in the new and exciting field of Radiant Thinking. In addition to helping you to maximise your brain power. the book also features a range of stimulating exercises and a lavish and inspirational collection of photographs and original Mind Maps which illustrate the technique.

This book is hopelessly misleading. It gives an idea about how to draw mind maps, but also gives a horrendous idea of where they are appropriate within learning to learn. The book more or less junks other forms of note taking in order to market other Buzan products. Nonsense about left and right brain (which has been debunked since the 1970s) is constantly presented as an argument for using your whole range of cortical skills (which cannot even be measurably seperated). It leaves the reader thinking that just drawing one of these things is good enough. Whereas you really need to be internally active in order to learn. There is also a crackpot scheme for helping the world to mindmap. If this isn't a cult manual, I don't know what is.Pseudoscience, quackery, mind myths, and lots of stuff to get you to buy more of the same, without seeing to the needs of learners.I once heard that management consultants like mind maps, because they are simple. Sounds about right!Motivational speakers use their whole brain, but the left side has nothing right, and the right side has nothing left!Learn to use a variety of graphic organisers, and learn to apply them to specific situations, and please don't tell people that you are doing it because otherwise you would not be using both the left and right sides of you brain.
