It's fun and easy to draw on the paper, and the area of each page is great if you want a vast, squarish space to draw in. I haven't had any problems with the spiral binder. What keeps this sketchbook from being a buy-again is the paper quality. It's good, except when it comes to erasing. Erase in the first spot 1 or 2 times and you'll be fine, erase 3 or more times and you'll be tearing up the paper until its unmanageable. This will lead to the paper rapidly thinning and smudging, which makes applying any wet medium to it really difficult and risks running.I am an artist & designer and was looking for a square sketchbook and found this! I actually do love this because of the paper quality.Wires came undone before I even could use it. I tried to fix it, but every time I flip the cover open to try and use it, the pages all come out again. Paper quality was nice, but unfortunately the wire used to bind it is flimsy and cheap.Really like these- sturdy covers and good binding make them durable for putting away quickly in a tiny flat without bashing corners, catching covers and damaging the contents. I use mainly Rotring tech pens to sketch and draw with and the paper takes the ink well, good weight per sheet(170gsm) takes other media like light washes of acrylic and oil without buckling, pencil strokes erase with no discernable damage. So far- quite a few sheets in to the 1st I bought- am really happy. There are cheaper pads out there but recommend these for your more special works-only downfall is the weight of the hardback covers makes them not a bit heavy to carry around if you value portability.Fantastic sketchbook- I have had about five of these now! Worked with pencil, collage, water colour, acrylic paints, fine liners and a whole range of media. Quality paper and great delivery. Ring-bind is great for flexibility. 100% recommend.Ok the pages are nice and just what I wanted for sketching... but, the spiral binding is a nightmare. The spiral wire has bent on opening and is now really difficult to open the pages. I am going to have to get some wire snips and remove the offending parts. My last sketchbook from Artway was a normal book binding and I'll have to buy that again.I'm new to the drawing game and this is my first proper sketchbook. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with my decision to go with this particular book. It's strong, durable and the paper is really nice to draw on. It's thick enough to paint on also so there is the option to fill it with lots of variety. As I am a beginner I don't really have much to compare it to but I'm pretty sure that this sketchbook was worth the purchase. If I ever to do manage to fill it up I will definitely buy again! It’s a great sketchbook for the money, this is the 3rd I’ve bought. This one came in a slightly too large brown paper envelope. I approve of the type of packaging completely, that’s great but please could you tape any spare envelope down so the book can’t slide about? Several pages had creased corners…. Otherwise, recommend!
