My 9 year old daughter finished this book the same day we received it, she couldn't put it down. It is the perfect book to introduce rational thinking and skepticism to younger kids. It is well put together, humorous and thought provoking. The illustrations are great, although she said she was unaware that Thor had a mullet! Although we have started teaching her about world religions, she was fascinated to learn about a few different gods that we haven't covered yet, such as Vishnu who was described as pale blue with many arms and Lono a Polynesian god. She also loved the space to write, especially the part where she could "make up" her own god, who was a mischievous girl god, of course. :) I wholeheartedly disagree with the reviewer who said it was "indoctrination of atheism". On the contrary, this book simply teaches children that there are many religions and beliefs, and tells them that it is OK to ask questions, learn the history and come to their own conclusions. We should all want our children to be curious and ask questions about all aspects of life, not just religion. She was very excited to read that there will be more books in this series!
