Vinta Mother of Pearl Nakar 1934 Fountain Pen Ink
Mother of Pearl is also known as “nakar” in the Philippines. More fiction than fact, legends have surrounded the largest pearl, 6.38kg, ever discovered. It was said that a diver drowned retrieving the pearl in May 1934 in Palawan, Philippines. It is known as the Pearl of Allah or the Pearl of Lao-Tzu. This beautiful gray and purple ink with silver shimmer is evocative of the Philippines and its nickname as the Pearl of the Orient. This ink made exclusively for the Manila Pen Show 2019.
Handcrafted in the Philippines, Vinta inks come in a wide variety of beautiful colors, and each color has a story to tell about local culture or history. Besides the standard inks, there are some incredibly bright and sparkly inks to give your writing a truly Filipino flair! Vinta donates 25 Philippine pesos for every bottle they sell to the Philippines Education foundation, an initiative that aims to provide a good education for all Filipino children.
